Set out below are details of the fee structure for the 4 year B. S. Marine Engineering programme at TMI commencing Aug. 2008.

* These expenses are estimated to be incurred by the students during their stay on campus.

Note:

  • Separate charges would be levied at actual costs incurred by the Institute in respect of excursions, visits, medical expenses (to the extent not covered under insurance), personal telephone call charges, etc.
  • Value added courses undertaken by the students will attract additional fees.
    All amounts due to the Institute are to be paid at the beginning of the semester.
  • Late fee will be charged for payments after due date.
  • Girl students will be entitled to receive a reduction of Rs.10,000/- for each semester.
  • Above Fees and expenses are based on current estimates and are subject to change.
  • Statutory taxes if any will be applicable in addition to the above.

Medical Insurance

TMI has facilitated an insurance policy with Lokmanya Hospital, Nigdi at a one time cost of Rs. 5,000 per student for all years of study on campus. This policy insures the student for Rs. 50,000 per year and covers 100% of the charges for hospitalization and 50% for out patient treatment at Lokmanaya Hospital, Nigdi. A unique feature of this scheme is that if no claim is made under this policy by the student, the part of the premium paid will be reimbursed to the student upon leaving TMI.

Other Charges

Charges for telephone calls, medical expenses, educational excursion trips etc. will be charged as per actuals. Personal discretionary expenditure is the responsibility of each student. An advance for all estimated expenses during the semester shall be payable before the commencement of each semester.

Girl Students

TMI is committed to encouraging girl's participation in the maritime industry and therefore is very supportive of inducting girls into its programmes. To this end, girl students receive a reduction of Rs. 10,000 in fees per semester.

Payment of Fees

All fees are required to be paid at the beginning of each semester. Management may take necessary action if fee payment is delayed.

Financial Assistance

TMI degree programmes are approved by AXIS Bank, HDFC Bank, Corporation Bank and State Bank of India. However, candidates can approach any bank for financial assistance.
