ISO 9001:2000
ISO 9001:2000 certification has led to standardisation and documentation of all processes
and procedures carried out at TMI, Induri including but not limited to:
- Admission
- Recruitment
- Internship programme
- Conduct of courses
Before the onset of each course, the class is given course handouts which detail the scope
of the course, course/lecture plan, text books, recommended reference materials, evaluation
schemes and assignments to be carried out during the course.
The Benefits
1 Greater transparency
This process of standardisation and documentation leads to a greater transparency for
students, recruiting companies, and the Governing and Academic Council in matters concerning
the functioning of the institute . For example, answer sheets after being evaluated, are
distributed back to the students so as to enable comparison with other students and to
learn and benefit from those students who have excelled in the course.
2 Continuous evaluation
ISO 9001:2000 also incorporates continuous performance evaluation of various aspects of
the functioning of the institute by using statistical techniques. For example all faculty
members are continuously evaluated and their training needs are assessed.
3 Redressal mechanism for feedback
ISO 9001:2000 systemises redressal mechanisms for feedback from students, their parents,
recruiting companies and others. Structured methods are in place for people to express
their grievances as well as any recommendations they may have. The feedback system is expected
to lead to continuous improvement in the institute.
