One Year Master’s Programme in Marine Engineering
The programme would include courses in engineering, management and project work.
Successful completion of the 16 weeks programme at TMI would enable the students to seek direct admission to the second semester of the M. Sc. Degree of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering at the Universities of Glasgow and Strathclyde in Glasgow (UK).

The Lloyd’s Register Educational Trust (The LRET) Scholarships
- About The LRET
The Lloyd’s Register Educational Trust (The LRET) is an independent charity that was established in 2004. Its principal purpose is to support advances in transportation, science, engineering and technology education, training and research worldwide for the benefit of all. It also funds work that enhances the safety of life and property at sea, on land and in the air. The LRET focuses on four categories:
• pre-university education: through appropriate organisations (but not individual schools), promotes careers in science, engineering and technology to young people, their parents and teachers
• university education: provides funding for undergraduate and post-graduate scholarships and awards at selected universities and colleges (does not fund students directly)
• vocational training and professional development: supports professional institutions, educational and training establishments working with people of all ages.
• research: funds existing or new centres of excellence at institutes and universities.
- About the Scholarships
The LRET will fund scholarships for exceptional students pursuing the program each year. Each scholarship will provide a monetary sum of £10,000 for one year of study. The scholarship is to cover tuition and academic fees for the course that is jointly conducted by TMI and University of Strathclyde, Glasgow.
The scholarships will be awarded to selected students who have demonstrated excellent academic performance prior joining the course. The scholarship shall continue for the second semester at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, only if the performance in the first semester at TMI has been satisfactory.
- Exclusion Criteria
Students who are in receipt of scholarships sponsored by other industrial companies / organizations for this program, will not be eligible for The LRET Scholarship.
Commencement
Next course commences early September 2012.

Opportunities
The opportunities after completion of M. Sc. will be in the area of classification societies, shipping and ship management companies and other shipping related fields. Subject to fulfilling criteria enforce, Scotland is likely to allow a two year stay in a job after completion of the Scottish qualification.
