EXPONENIAL CAPEX BY GURU @ BSE ON SEPTEMBER 21, 2016
Mr. Hansal J. Thacker, Designation: Director , Institution: Lalkar Securities Pvt. Ltd.As the business mantra goes, “Never a Borrower Or a Lender Be” – Warren Buffet. When it comes to investment we all are trapped in a vicious circle and at the end we land up asking ourselves what to invest? When to invest? Why to invest? Isn’t it? But our guru Mr. Hansal J.Thacker Director of LALKAR Securities Pvt. Ltd. conducted an informative session were by various questions regarding investment opportunities, investment decisions and trends in our market analysis were solved .As our guru stated SME(small and medium enterprise) will be the future of BSE and currently there are 5670 companies listed in BSE. He also said that the companies must also concentrate on CAPEX-capital expenditure rather than any other expenditure.

 

On 2nd September 2016

GFMP Students participated in Taleem-O-Tarbiyat, A Conference on how education helps , empower and energise communities organised by BSE on 2nd September, 2016.
Really enlightenment felt by hearing Shri. Arun Jaitley, Hon'ble Union Minister of Finance,GOI, Shri Ashish Chauhan, CEO of BSE, Shri Zafar Sareshwala, Dr. Mohammad Askam Parvaiz, Dr. Ataar Khan, Shri Arun Tiwari, Shri Rajeev kumar Agarwal, Shri Rajeev Rishi. Rightly emphasised on IMPORTANCE OF EDUCATION, TEACHING, TRAINING AND UPBRINGING IN AN INDIVIDUAL'S LIFE.
In a first-of-its-kind pilot project that attempts to mainstream madrassa-educated children, a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding was signed on Friday between the Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MAANU), Mumbai-based Valuable Edutainment Pvt. Ltd. and seven madrassas, including two in Deoband in Uttar Pradesh, to start virtual classrooms where English, Mathematics and Sciences will be taught.

 

On 29th June, 2016 

A visit to SEBI ( SEBI Bhavan, Plot No.C4- A, G- Block, Bandra Kurla Complex, Bandra –East, Mumbai -400 051) was organized. The  group had the session from 2.30 p.m to 4.45 p.m and was attended by 60 GFMP Batch students.
The session enabled the students to understand the following:
1.     Need for financial planning.
2.     Need to plan at early age so that one can meet one’s financial needs in time.
3.     Various investment avenues in the Indian financial market.
4.     Precautions to be taken before making investments.
5.     Investment strategies to achieve individual’s financial goals.
6.     How to begin investing?

On 28th June 2016

GFMP students attended a guest lecture on STRUCTURED TRADE FINANCE (STF) AND ITS CHALLENGES IN THE PRESENT MARKET by Imminent   Speaker: Mr Krishna Prasad,
GM-Finance Agrocorp International Pvt Ltd, Singapore,  a Master of Science (MSc),International Finance from  University College, Dublin.( At BSE Institute Ltd)
Agrocorp International is a GTP company with an annual revenue exceeding USD 1.9 billion and
has presence in 12 countries.  The company handles volumes of more than USD 5 million MT of commodities which majorly include sugar, grains, pulses, rice, oilseeds, cotton and raw cashew
trading across international markets including Canada, China, Turkey, Middles East, India, Pakistan, Malaysia,Bangladesh, Srilanka, Indonesia and Vietnam.
GFMP Students of Tolani College of Commerce  got a golden opportunity to learn
What is STF , Parties involved in STF: Supplier, Broker, Buyer and the Bank.  Who are
the other key parties involved under STF, What are the basic STF products available in the market ,
How all these products work for an SME, MSC and MNC,  Various Risk involved in STF,  Risk Mitigation
tools for STF, What is CCM under STF, Role of the Head of STF in an organization and  What is Commodity Enhanced Financing (CEF) and its importance now.

On 21st March 2016

A batch of eight students and a faculty visited the local Retail Mall-Oberoi, Goregaon East, Mumbai. The objective of the visit was to understand the Retailing Concepts like Merchandise management , Store layout & design, Retail location & Customer relationship management. All these groups visited different retail stores –Jack & Jones, Central, Home Center, Crossword, etc.
 

On 23rd January 2016

The Self Financing Department organised a one day Industrial Visit to Silvassa on the 23rd January 2016 with 69 students from programs of B.M.S., B.A.F., B.B.I., B.F.M.  & B.Sc.(I.T.). The industrial Visit covered two industries namely Alok Industries Ltd. textile company and  KRYFS Power components Ltd.


On 18th January, 2016
GFMP Students participated in seminar by CDSL. Topics the students were able to learn are as following-
•Wealth of information on Demat,
•On line trading, Investor protection,
•SEBI, Procedures & Protections,
•Rajiv Gandhi Equity Savings Scheme,
•OFS.
The topic basically was to educate the youngsters about the Dematerialisation ,process of physical shares in electronic form and The working of the Depository Mechanism that helps in conducting the process of Demat smoothly.

 

 

On 14th January, 2016
GFMP Students participated in NEW YEAR’S BIGGEST MARKET CONCLAVE organised by BSE INSTITUTE LTD along with BLOOMBERG TV.
Rakesh Jhunjhunwala , an Indian Investor and Trader and  a qualified Chartered Accountant was the main speaker. He manages his own portfolio as a partner in his asset management firm, Rare Enterprises. Jhunjhunwala has been described by India Today magazine as the "pin-up boy of the current bull run" and by The Economic Times as "Pied Piper of Indian bourses”. He is India’s Most famous Stock Guru and Ace investor, to highlight about how he plans to script a winning wealth creation story in this turbulent global market place. It had been a FABULOUS & FASCINATING TRADE TALK


On 13th January, 2016 GFMP Students  participated  in  Lecture meeting on 'Crowd funding, New comers IPO & SME Listing'  organized by Bombay Chartered Accountants’ Society. They got the knowledge on Dos and  Donts of listing / raising funds through the SME Platform.
 


On 6th & 7th  January, 2016
GFMP Students participated in BSE Institute Limited Conclave on "Measuring Inclusiveness in Digital Empowerment, Education, Skills and Health".

On 23rd December, 2015 GFMP Students attended listing ceremony of Alkem Laboratories Ltd. It was a great opportunity for the students of Tolani College Of Commerce (Andheri- East) to witness the most awaited event in capital markets i.e Listing of Alkem Laboratories Ltd on the Bombay Stock Exchange. There were number of guests invited :the Chairman of Alkem Lab Ltd -Mr. Samprada Singh, MD- Mr. B. N. Singh, Director- Sandeep Singh, CEO- Mr. Prabhat Agrawal, CFO of BSE- Mr. Nayan Mehta were in limelight. These great personalities spoke about their journey & contribution for Alkem Laboratories Ltd which is India's 5th largest pharma company that took roots in 1973.

 


On 18th December, 2015, STOCK TORERO-  TAME THE BULL, Held by  BSE - GFMP students on  18th December,  2015 was an inter college Stock Market Champoinship. Total of 21 participants from all over India participated in these event. Trading was from  9:30 A.M  till 12:15 P .M ,then from 1:30 P.M.to 3:30 P.M. 5 students from Tolani College of Commerce  participated as brokers. Kudos to  Rakshita Kotian, Anant Atibudhi, Shahid Shaikh, Bhavna Jain, Sanjay Ghantelwal
 
 

On 15th December, 2015, GFMP Students got an opportunity to attend “AIBI Summit-2015” at Hotel ITC Grand Central, Parel, Mumbai , sponsored by NSE and BSE. Technical Sessions and Special Sessions were related to the Capital market with insights into the economy of the Country.The students got an opportunity to interact with Chief Guest: Mr. U. K. Sinha, Chairman, SEBI . There was a Special Interactive Session with Mr. Ramesh Damani, (MD, Ramesh S. Damani Finance Pvt. Ltd.) and Economists/Analysts Session moderated by Menaka Doshi, Executive Editor (CNBC TV 18)

 


On 7th December, 2015, A visit to SEBI ( SEBI Bhavan, Plot No.C4- A, G- Block, Bandra Kurla Complex, Bandra –East, Mumbai -400 051) was organized.The permission was granted for two batches . The first group had the session from 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m and was attended by 49 B.COM students. The second group had the session from 2.30 p.m to 4.45 p.m and was attended by 39 B.Com. students.
 The session enabled the students to understand the following:
1.     Need for financial planning.

GFMP Students attended and participated  in an insight talk organized by BSE, IACC, Tie & Artha Forum on  “ Conscious Leadership  - Passion   Purpose   Profit” at BSE, Mumbai. Guest of honour  were :H.H. Radhanath Swamiji, Ashishkumar Chauhan, MD & CEO, BSE, Mr. Ronnie Screwvala, Founder UTV & SWADES Foundation,   Mr. Hrishikesh  Mafatlal, Chairman, Arvind Mafatlal Groups, Dr.N.D Desai, Chairman , Apar Groups .

 


GFMP Students participated in STOCK TORERO (at BSE, Mumbai) , an event which is an intercollegiate event organized and conducted by BIL Students. This event provides a competitive platform to students for exploring the dynamics of capital markets, a perfect mixture of learning and hands-on experience that included simulation of running actual trading in Stock Market.

To understand the Corporate Social responsibility towards creating environmental awareness and conservation, twenty three students of ‘Travel and Tourism’ of S.Y.B.Com along with two staff members visited ‘The Orchid’ Asia’s only ecotel hotel that consciously aims towards conservation of resources, minimizing of wastes, recycling of water and creating art out of waste.

Twenty five students of college attended a lecture delivered by Lt Cdr Abhilash Tommy, the first Indian to undertake Non-stop Solo Circumnavigation. The  lecture was held at the Captain Mulla Auditorium on 18th July 2013.and organized by the Maritime History Society, (Indian Navy)
