Department Lifelong Learning and Extension 

The Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension [DLLE] was established on October 12, in the Year 1978 and has been recognized as a statutory Department of the University of Mumbai since 1994 to promote a meaningful and sustained rapport between the Universities and the community. The DLLE offers flexible Continuing Education opportunities for the people. As a well-founded academic Department of the University of Mumbai, the Department is committed both to the highest standards of excellence, and to ensuring that the University's unparalleled academic strengths and resources made available to as many interested learners as possible so as to play a pivotal role in reaching basic education to the masses.

Keeping these views in mind the college has started the extension services with a group of 50 students. The main aim of the extension education is for the development of the people and for field outreach activities.

On 4th February, 2016
 
The Department of Life Long Learning and Extension had organised its annual extension festival UDAAN the flight of extension on 4 th February 2016 at Vidyarthi Vidyapeeth Bhavan,Churchgate  with 2 competitions namely Street play and Poster competition.
Our students from DLLE  participated in both the events and won the 1st prize  in the Street play competition among 18 colleges.
The winners were debilitated with certificates and trophy  and the participants were also given participation certificates.
 
 
 
On 27th November, 2015
“THE GIFT OF BLOOD IS THE GIFT OF LIFE". No doubt the first and foremost advantage of donating blood is the exalted feeling of saving someone's life. DLLE  organized BLOOD DONATION CAMP in association with TATA MEMORIAL HOSPITAL from 8.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. Where in the medical team of Hospital made the children aware about how a single pint can save three lives; A single gesture can create million smiles.along with the benefits of Blood Donation. Students and staff members made it a grand success by huge voluntary participation, as always, whereby they were able to collect 72 units of blood.
 
 

The Second term training program was held on the the 10th of January 2014 from 12 pm onwards in the college auditorium. Dr. Arvind Luhar who is the field co-ordinator was present, he conducted a training session on preparing a report on the survey conducted by the participants and also gave an inspiring talk on ‘Women Empowerment’

On 17th January a Blood donation camp was organized by the DLLE department in collaboration with KEM blood bank, wherein 62 participants participated.

On 21st January, 20 students of DLLE participated in the annually held UDAAN Festival of DLLE which was held this year at Ghanshyamdas Saraf College (Malad). Our students put up a splendid performance by means of a street play and poster making competition.

 

 

The DLLE First Term Training Program for the Academic year 2013 – 2014 was held at Tolani College on the 10th of September 2013 in the College Auditorium. Dr. Arvind Luhar was the guest speaker; he is also the DLLE Area Coordinator for Tolani college. The DLLE Project selected for this year is SWS (Status of Women in Society). Dr. Luhar talked on the various issues that women are facing in society and also on the importance of doing a survey for this project which will help in uplifting the status of women in society. Prof. Ram (DLLE Teacher in charge) also addressed the students and encouraged them to work wholeheartedly on this project.

                                                                             

 

For the academic year 2012-13 the college has undertaken the three online projects for 120 hours which are;

1] Women Empowerment Education Programme ,

2] Career Skills Development Education and

3] Population Education Programme.

The Second term training program was on held 9th January 2013 at Tolani College. Dr. Arvind Luhar, who is the Dlle Area co-ordinator was present for the occasion and gave the students an inspiring speech on various social issues and problems and how to overcome them. He talked about the various ways in which students can contribute to society and deal with social evils. The major issues discussed were as follows:

1.       The Current Status of Women in India

2.       Empowerment of Women

3.       Population Education & Control and other related topics.

 

 Training Programme

The First term Training Programme for Extension Teachers and Students organized by Dept.of Life Long Learning and Extension Services of the College along with University of Mumbai on 4th August 2012.


A total of around 200 teachers and students form among 70 colleges participated in the Training Programme.

The Guest of honour for the same were Dr. Madhu Nair(Dean of Commerce), Dr.Rajadhakysa (Dean of Law), Dr.Ravindra Ghagar(Chairman BOS), Dr.Dilip Patil(Director of LLE), Dr.Arvind Luhar(Chairman of Board of Accountancy)
 
           
 

 

The college had organized a four days workshop on ‘Banking Competitive Examinations’ jointly with Department of Life Long Learning and Extension Services {University of Mumbai} from 24thSeptember to 27thSeptember 2012.A sum of around 200 students from T.Y.B.COM ,BMS,BBI were the beneficiaries of the workshop .The programme schedule for the workshop was as follows;
